Mrs. Alyssa Block comes to Tri-City Christian Academy with seven years of experience in education. Alyssa has a love for students and to teach. To further her education, she is currently working towards a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction for Elementary Education.

 

She was born in Yokosuka, Japan. As a child she moved around with her father who served over 20 years in the Navy. She has lived in Japan, Illinois, Washington State, and Nebraska.  Alyssa graduated from Chadron State College in Chadron, NE with a BA in Business Administration. 

 

Alyssa married her husband, Dustin, who has been serving in the Coast Guard for the past nine years. They have lived in New Jersey, Alabama, and now New Hampshire. Dustin volunteered to complete a year tour in Bahrain and Alyssa went to Florida.  During this year, Alyssa went back to school to become a certified K-6thgrade teacher. While completing courses, Alyssa worked as a substitute and a long term substitute for Hernando County School District. She taught 5th grade before moving to Alabama. In Alabama, Alyssa found a great private school to grow as an educator. She began working at The Lakeside School as a substitute teacher, then co-taught 4th grade, and last years taught 6th-8th grade Reading.

 

Alyssa and Dustin have one son, Colton who will be attending Tri-City Christian Academy in the Pre-K room. She looks forward to a great year!
